Orofacial Therapy of Alaska
Teresa Nicolia is a speech/language pathologist specializing in orofacial myofunctional therapy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) in 2009. She went on to study Speech Language Pathology at Bloomsburg University and graduated with her master of science degree in 2011.
Since that time, Teresa has worked as a speech pathologist in nursing and rehabilitation, early intervention, home-based therapy, and traditional school-based therapy grades K-12. She has worked with age groups across the lifespan.
Teresa holds her certificate of clinical competence and is a licensed provider in the state of Alaska. Teresa is a two-time recipient of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association’s A.C.E award for professional development. She is also an active member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology. Through speech and myofunctional therapy, Teresa aims to develop her client’s self-esteem, sense of well-being, and functional outcomes to improve overall quality of life.
