Marci Dunavan, M.A. CCC/SLP, the owner of South Hill Speech Therapy, has over 15 years of experience as a pediatric speech-language pathologist and over 10 years of adult and geriatric experience in the rehabilitation of stroke, spinal cord, and traumatic brain injuries. She has extensive background in the local schools and clinical practice experience in the rehabilitation hospital setting. Marci received her bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing sciences from the University of Washington and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Washington State University.
Marci holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (www.asha.org), a Washington State speech-language pathology professional license, and a Washington State Educational Staff Associate certificate. She is a proud member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology (www.iaom.com) and has a passion for helping people to restore a normal rest posture of the tongue and lips. Adept in treating people with unique needs, Marci draws upon a number of therapeutic methods to develop a treatment program that is carefully tailored to your current abilities and goals. Marci is trained in the PROMPT(TM) system of intervention (www.promptinstitute.com) and has extensive hours of service and training in the remediation of orofacial myofunctional disorders.
