This Myofunctional Therapy works to restore the Orofacial Systems to balance. OMD (Orofacial Myology Disorder) is a disorder of the orofacial muscle complex system. This system includes the mouth, lips, tongue, oral-nasal cavity, & musculature.

This disorder can occur due to abnormal non-nutritive sucking habits(thumb, finger, pacifier, etc…..). Habitually open mouth posture, forward tongue position, tongue tie, abnormal breathing; swallow patterns, abnormal mastication, & bolus formation.

OMD frequently can result in dental malocclusion, changes in facial development, & can undermine orthodontic correction resulting in relapse. Research has shown speech associated problems also.
