Ashley Van Winkle, RDH BS
shley grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and went to Millard West high school. After high school Ashley attended the University of Nebraska- Lincoln then went to dental hygiene school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and received a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene. While in dental hygiene school Ashley received 1st place from the Nebraska Dental Association for her research on the importance of implementing oral health curriculum in nursing school programs, and she is now working on publishing this research. Ashley understands the relationship between dental health and overall systemic health and is eager for all health professionals to work together to achieve optimum patient care. Educating patients and motivating them to achieve optimum dental health is what Ashley enjoys most about hygiene.
After hygiene school Ashley began specializing in Oral Myofunctional Therapy, which is an emerging field in the United States teaching people how to breath, swallow, chew and cease habits such as thumb or finger sucking. Oral Myofunctional Therapy has opened up a new passion in Ashley’s heart to provide care that can change a person’s appearance, health, self-esteem, and overall quality of life in an astonishing way. In Ashley’s free time she enjoys cooking, baking, crafts, and spending time with family.
