I am a certified orofacial myologist and a speech language pathologist. I am also a Provisional Buteyko Educator for individuals with disordered breathing, including those suffering with asthma, allergies, sleep disordered breathing, and mouth breathing. As a Speech Language Pathologist, I worked for many years at an acute care hospital where I worked in the NICU as well as with all ages on feeding and swallowing disorders. I continue to work with individuals with voice disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, language disorders, auditory processing deficits, autism spectrum disorders, cognitive-linguistic disorders and more. I have had a private practice since 2005 where in recent years I have been specializing in orofacial myology and breathing disorders. Children and motivated adults with tongue thrusts, prolonged sucking habits and tongue-ties can improve the resting and functional muscle patterns of the lips, jaw and tongue for speech, swallowing and help optimize their airway with professional guidance and support. Optimizing nasal breathing day and night is important to overall health for individuals of all ages. Trained in the ALF appliance alongside dentists and osteopaths. Laynee Restorative Breathing Method Level 2 trained. I work closely with other professionals to provide a team approach.
