About Lindsay Knutson Smith, SLP

Lindsay Knutson Smith is Registered Speech-Language Pathologist, with the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Manitoba, Canada (CASLPM). Lindsay is currently seeking certification to become a Certified Orofacial Myologist, She is the owner and founder of SPOT Speech Pathology & Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.
Lindsay has over 10 years of experience working children in the public education sector and recently endeavored to open a private practice that specializes in working with infants, toddlers, children and adults with varying degrees Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders, Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTS, aka Tongue &/or Lip Ties), and a variety of other speech, language, or communication impairments.

Lindsay has presented at local conferences on the impact of OMD’s and Tongue tie. As a current member of the Winnipeg Tongue Tie Committee, she is passionate about advocating for and educating parents and professionals in her community. Her passion is Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders, which involves treating muscle function involving the tongue, lips, jaw, and face as a result of structural deficits and/or functional compensations. Working with infants with feeding issues secondary to tongue tie is a new area of interest and passion. In addition, Lindsay values collaborating with other professionals, including but not limited to: IBCLCs, bodyworkers, orthodontists, pediatric dentists, general dentists, TMJ specialists, oral surgeons, pediatricians, and ENTs to ensure patients have a holistic care team and a cohesive treatment plan.
Striving to stay current with research, information, and advanced training in this field, Lindsay is able to implement her learning to continue to improve patients care. “I feel it is my job is to provide holistic care and connect my patients to appropriate professionals in a compassionate & multidisciplinary way”.
